The Ottery Group is seeking a Senior-level Architectural Historian to direct our architectural history team. This full-time, permanent position will largely involve project management, staff oversight, and business development, but will also entail fieldwork, archival research, site evaluation and recordation, and preparation of technical reports. Applicants should have a graduate degree in Architectural History and at least five years of professional work experience in architectural history or a related field. The position requires a thorough knowledge of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the National Environmental Policy Act and experience preparing a variety of reports, including: Historic Structure Reports, Environmental Impact Reports, Condition Assessments, Preservation Plans, National Register Nominations, Federal Tax Credit Certification documentation, and HABS/HAER reports. The applicant should have a keen attention to detail, excellent writing skills, and the ability to successfully manage staff and projects on tight schedules. Applicants must have a minimum of a B.A. degree in Anthropology or a related field and have completed a field school. Previous CRM experience is highly desirable.
